The biggest town in area of Jeseníky mountains. It was founded in year 1281 and since year 1662 has been Šumperk a free town. In the year 1662 town completely burned up. In the 18th century was Šumperk called "Manchaster" of Austrian empire, because of textile manufactories. The most important building was castle from 14th century, Renaissance rebuilt. But this chateu burned out and today the school is there. Other interesting buildings are parish church from 15th century or monastic church from year 1686, which was built on the place of blown gothic church.
